Tips for Marketing on Social Media

When it comes to marketing on social media there are three important factors.

1. Paid Media- these are paid for on different social media platforms whether you sponsor content or run an advertisement.

2. Organic Content- this is your weekly posts and stories on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or YouTube.

3. Who your product or service is for is it for business to business (B2B) or business to consumer (B2C)?

A HubSpot 2024 social media trends report surveyed thousands of digital marketers to see which platforms worked best in relation to B2B and B2C.

They discovered B2B's top platforms in order are:

1. Facebook

2. Instagram

3. YouTube

4. LinkedIn

5. X (formerly Twitter)

As for B2C...

1. Facebook

2. YouTube

3. Instagram

4. TikTok (on the rise!)

5. X (formerly Twitter)

Once you know who your product/service is for you can determine the right platforms to reach these people.

It doesn't end there though, next you determine how to connect with these people on a real authentic level. Organic content is valued today, as AI grows, people long for real and relatable content.

Let's say you own a supplement business that is supposed to help people focused on a healthy lifestyle. Create content with that product related to a healthy lifestyle. Get UGC creators with a small following to try your product and give an honest review in their own way.

Strongly advertise what your brand stands for, what your product helps people with and include your brand name and voice in everything so people can recognize you.

Take Poppi Soda a low-sugar, probiotic beverage marketed as a healthy soda you can enjoy without the negative effects. They tailor flavors to different astrological signs, they relate to holidays that involve drinking and show mocktail ideas, they show flavors with warm bright colors matching the flavor, they host giveaways to increase engagement and awareness, and they utilize humor and creativity.

Marketing is about knowing your product, what it does for people, and positioning your brand in a creative way that stands out from the rest.
