Social Media Marketing Trends of 2024
We've kept up to date with the latest trends, so you don't have to and here is what we discovered...
1. With the current political state of the U.S., and potential TikTok ban creators and businesses are honing in on other platforms. Expect to see a spike in Instagram reels.
2. Micro-influencers impact is rising this year- hold up. What are micro-influencers you may ask? They are creators with a smaller following, but their content is real and trustworthy as they don't have fame over it and seem more likely to actually be using what they are recommending usually showing the receipts of how a product works for them.
3. Short-form video- Now more than ever, short-form videos are skyrocketing. Don't just take it from us, YouTube has came out with shorts because of the undeniable strength of short-form content. To put it in perspective, as a social media manager I am constantly trying out different tactics for my clients. When I noticed our videos hit a plateau, I made a 10 second video and immediately the next day there was a huge difference in views and engagement.
4. UGC Content- user generated content is when a customer is paid to make a review video for a brand. These are becoming more and more popular, a majority of them are done by real people and not deceiving, video reviews are just the new form of reading reviews for people that prefer visual content.
5. What is the #1 strategy in 2024?- ENGAGING CONTENT. Capturing your audience or ideal audiences attention in the first few seconds enough so to bring them to your channel page, look through more content and even follow. TIP: Platforms will tell you things like, "Jenny followed you from your reel"
6. Trending sounds- STILL vital, but phasing out. ONLY in the sense that if you use a song that was used 200K times, it is less likely to get as much traction as a song used 5K-20K times as these songs will be newer to the trend. Think about it? Do you skip through videos and think to yourself, "That song again! It was in my head ALL day yesterday."
